THE PROGRAM AT JUSTIN WOODS HOCKEY

Justin Woods Hockey provides campers with an incredible range of stimulating and creative activities. We provide an awesome program for all our athletes, no matter their interests or level of experience.

This skill development camp offers 3 skates and 3 dry-land workouts. Age groups are 8u-10u and 12u-14u. Justin Woods Hockey wants to create a professional environment for the youth hockey players of Fairbanks. The players will work on techniques to further grow what they've already learned in their previous years on and off the ice. This will not only be a skill development skate, but will provide them with the information they need in order to grow their hockey IQ as well. Everything that we will do during this camp has a purpose and will be executed with passion and work ethic. Each day will have a specific agenda whether it is power skating, stick handling, shooting or in-game techniques/drills.

ON ICE TRAINING

The off-season is a perfect time to work on the necessary skills that will help prepare a player for the upcoming season. On-ice training will include:
-Power-skating
-Stick-handling
-Passing
-Shooting
-In-game skills

OFF-ICE TRAINING

Off-ice training is just as important as the work that is done on the ice. As younger players mature into older athletes, their ability to stay in tune with their bodies is crucial. At Justin Woods Hockey, they are given 3 off-ice training sessions in the form of dry-land. The goal is to build strength and speed in the most efficient and effective way. They will also be provided with exercises that can be done on their own, throughout their hockey seasons.

NUTRITION, TIPS + TRICKS

Justin Woods and the staff will also hold a Q+A on nutrition. The athletes will be provided with a list of meal ideas that they can implement into their own diets during the course of their seasons/off-seasons.
*Note: Every athlete is different (depending on allergies, sensitivities, etc.) This will be a tool that can help them, not a list of what they should/shouldn't be eating.
